Himadri Hollands Sales Policy
If you are under 18 and inquire about a rabbit, we will ask to correspond with/speak directly to a parent to ensure that the family agrees on the purchase of a rabbit. (Please don't be offended if we ask your age-- it is for the best interest of the rabbits, and if you are an adult, it probably means you sound youthful!)
Himadri Hollands does not breed rabbits to sell for profit or to produce pets. We breed toward the Standard of Perfection for the Holland Lop breed, and strive to continuously improve the breed, and specifically our own show and breeding herd. We do occasionally offer rabbits which are not needed by us for for show or breeding.
Bunnies on the Himadri nestbox and juniors pages are not always going to be offered for sale. Final sale decisions may not be made until the rabbit is several months old. No bunny will be released to its new home until it reaches 8 weeks old. Often bunnies will be held much longer to evaluate their development and to determine if they will be retained for the Himadri program.
Prices and availability are subject to change at our discretion, based on the development of the rabbit and the needs of our rabbitry. If a deposit has been received and price or availability change, a full refund of the deposit will always be offered as an option. This includes change of availability due to death, illness, or injury to the rabbit while still at Himadri Hollands, or change due to Himadri deciding to keep and/or re-evaluate and/or re-price a developing individual.
Sometimes a buyer will inquire about a rabbit, but will need a day or 2 to investigate necessary payment and/or pickup arrangements before further committing. We offer a 48-hour grace period for these circumstances, and the rabbit will be marked "Inquiry". If the buyer is not back in touch with us to commit to purchase within 48 hours, the rabbit will be again offered for sale.
A pending hold will be placed on a rabbit when a verbal commitment is made to send a deposit. The rabbit will be marked "Pending Hold". If a deposit is not received within 4 business days from the verbal committment, this hold will expire and the rabbit will be again offered for sale.
A deposit of 50% of the total price must be received to place a rabbit on formal hold. Once a deposit is received, the rabbit will be marked "Hold". This deposit is only refundable if price or availabilty of the rabbit changes. Sorry, there are no refunds for a change of the buyer's mind or circumstances.
A rabbit will be held for 7 days past the stated weaning date, or for weaned/adult rabbits, for 7 days from the date the deposit is received. At the close of 7 days if the rabbit has not been paid in full and picked up or other arrangements made which are agreeable to Himadri Hollands, the rabbit will be re-listed for sale and no refund will be given.
To recap:
* INQUIRY: Someone has made contact, expressed interest, and is intending to purchase. 48 hour maximum.
* PENDING HOLD: A verbal commitment has been made to purchase the rabbit, but a deposit has not been received. 4 business days maximum.
* HOLD: 50% of price has been received, and purchaser has 7 days to pick-up or make arrangements to pick-up.
* SOLD: Rabbit has been paid for in full and picked up.
The above applies unless there is an upcoming show or event that sale rabbits will be brought to-- in that case, deposits must be received at least 48 hours before we leave for the show/event, to allow us to plan which rabbits are coming along, or not. If no deposit has been received but you are also attending the show, it is up to you to find us and make hold and/or purchase arrangements first thing if you really want the rabbit, as we will not turn away other potential buyers at the show unless a deposit/arrangements have been made.
Personal checks are only accepted for a deposit, and when there is sufficient time for the check to clear both banks before the rabbit is picked up. We also accept cash, money order, cashiers check or Paypal for deposits. Cash payment is required for any remaining balance still due at pickup of the rabbit. (When paying with Paypal, the buyer will be required to add 3.5% to the total payment unless other arrangements are made. This is to cover the Paypal charges.)
Pet Potential rabbits may have one or more traits which disqualify them from showing at ARBA shows. They may have one or more genetic traits which would make them unsuitable for breeding. Himadri does not knowingly sell rabbits which are unhealthy, defective, have genetic malocclusion, or are of poor temperament, but cannot guarantee the health or temperament of the rabbit once it leaves our rabbitry. Pet prices typically start at $30.00 (does or rare colors may be more) and pets will be sold without a pedigree. Occasionally a brood or show potential rabbit will be available at a pet price without a pedigree. If you would like the pedigree on such an animal, the rabbit would be re-priced according to potential.
Brood Potential rabbits may mature over the weight limit to show at ARBA shows, or may be an unshowable color, but they have been inspected and are thought to be free of any undesirable geneitc traits which would keep them from producing a percentage of show quality offspring. However Himadri Hollands cannot guarantee that a rabbit will reproduce, or that the rabbit or its offspring will never exhibit undesirable traits. Prices for rabbits with brood potential typically start at $40 and may range upwards of $75 or more.
Show Potential rabbits have been inspected and are thought to be free of any traits which would disqualify them from being shown at ARBA shows. However Himadri Hollands canot guarantee how well any rabbit will show or that it will never develop a disqualification. Prices for rabbits with show potential typically start at $60 and may range upwards of $150 or more.
Himadri Hollands will give their opinion of the quality and temperament of each rabbit sold, however rabbits are sold "as-is" with no guarantee as to their future quality or temperament or their suitability for any particular purpose.
We strongly recommend that a buyer thoroughly inspect the rabbit before placing it on hold with a deposit, and again at the time of pickup, to make sure the rabbit meets their needs and expectations, as refunds will not be given unless a previously unnoticed disqualification or condition is discovered before the rabbit leaves Himadri Hollands rabbitry.
Replacements will only be given at our discretion. If you are requesting a replacement, the original purchased rabbit must be returned to us. If death has occurred within 7 days of purchase, place the rabbit in the freezer and contact us immediately.
Shipping is not typically available. We can arrange to meet at a mutually convenient place so you may inspect and/or pick up rabbits, or you may meet us at a rabbit show that we are attending.
Remember.... Planning and communication are keys to a successful rabbit addition to your family/herd.
The sale policy is subject to change or exception at our discretion. Changes or exceptions made for a sale will not necessarily apply to future sales. Himadri Hollands reserves the right to cancel or refuse a sale at any time for any reason.
If you can no longer keep a rabbit bred by Himadri Hollands- whether you were the original buyer or not- please contact us. We will always take in (not necessarily re-purchase) rabbits produced by us if they are in need of a home.
